Jolanda Alkemade
Growing up, I spent five unforgettable years in Kenya, right up to my graduation from high school. These years were formative for me personally, as well as the source of inspiration for "Jennifer and Jojo, Friends Forever".

In 1999, I graduated from Leiden University with an MA in English Literature and Language and a minor in African Studies.

I live in Des Moines, Washington, just south of Seattle in the USA. Bas and I have been married for 25 years and we have four sons.
